A society run by a ruthless company called GeneCo, which is headed up by an evil businessman named Rotti Largo (Sorvino) and his three maniacal kids (Moseley, Ogre, Hilton). As an act of both rebellion and curiosity, at night she slips into the seedier side of society without him knowing.
The storyline follows a teenager named Shilo (Vega) who is sick of living under her father’s (Head) rules.
What is it? It’s like The Rocky Horror Picture Show crashed head on into the old EC horror comics of yesteryear. Bousman, knowing that what he had was something special, took the film on the road himself, and you know what? It sold out theatres just about wherever it played with hordes of people dressing up as the film’s characters ready to sing along. I don't really have an argument against other criticisms (poor plot/acting/whatever), but I personally didn't notice anything that detracted from my experience (ok, maybe Paris finitely Paris Hilton).For those of you not keeping up - upon completion of the project Lionsgate wasn’t convinced of the movie’s marketability and, as a result, gave it a very abbreviated theatrical release. Not really sure where I'm going with this. I don't particularly like horror/gore or industrial music (is that the right word?), but I'm a big fan of rock operas. That seems to be what everyone is comparing Repo! to. I think most of them are very memorable, especially Anthony Head's. And it's my job, to steal and rob.GRAAAAAAAVES!!! Zydrate comes in a little glass vial (a little glass vial)? And the little glass vial goes into the gun like a battery.
I really liked it the first time I watched it (2 of my 3 roommates did as well) and couldn't get the songs out of my head. I don't understand all the hate! The above criticism especially. The songs were lackluster, none of them memorable. Today is the first time I've looked up reviews/opinions online. I've seen Repo! a few times and listened to most of the soundtrack several more.
